Root & Un-root Micromax Unite 2 – Guide
Rooting is the process of gaining administrative rights on your Android device and once we root our Android device, we can then make changes to it to customize it well beyond what it normally can do. But it cost us the warranty of the device which most of don’t like and this is the reason why rooting is not so widely popular in application. But there is also a procedure to un-root any device and after that one can get its device’s warranty back.
Un-rooting is the process of removing root access, a custom recovery and just trying to get the device back to as close to stock as possible. So in this article we will teach you both to root and un-root Micromax Unite 2. The procedure is given below under separate heads.

Warning – Rooting voids the warranty of the device but after un-rooting you can get it back.
Pre-requisite:

Step 2: You will have enable USB Debugging on your device. To do so, go to “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The checkbox beside USB Debugging should be ticked.
Step 3: You should charge your device so that there is 60% or more amount of battery charge on your device. Read our article on How to Improve Battery life of your Android device 10 steps guide.
Step 4: You will have to disable security apps and programs like Antivirus and Firewall from your device for the time being i.e. Until the rooting procedure has completed.
Step 5: Download USB Drivers (ADB and Fastboot) for your Android device to make it compatible with Windows.

This procedure flashes a custom recovery as well.

Download SP Flash Tool and save it to your desktop.
Download Android Scatter File and save it to your desktop.
Download Custom Recovery and save it to your desktop.
Download SuperSU and save it to your desktop.
Procedure
Step 1- Extract files from SP Flash Tool to your desktop by right-clicking on it and selecting Extract here.
Step 2 – Plug in your device to your PC via USB cable and copy SuperSU from your desktop over to the root of your SD card.
Step 3- Unplug your device from your PC.
Step 4 – Double-click on SP Flash Tool executable and it’ll open.
Step 5 – Click on Scatter-loading and choose the Android Scatter File you have placed on your desktop.
Step 6 – Click on Recovery in the tool and choose the Custom Recovery file available on your desktop and click Download button in the tool.
Step 7 – Turn OFF your device and pull the battery out of your device.
Step 8 – Plug in your device to your PC without inserting the battery and the tool should automatically start flashing the recovery on your device.
Step 9 – When the recovery’s flashed, put the battery back in your device. Hold down Volume UP, Volume DOWN, and Power buttons together and then press Volume UP and you should be in recovery mode.
Step 10 – Tap on Install
Step 11 – Choose the SuperSU file you copied earlier to be flashed on your device and it’ll start flashing the file on your device.
Step 12 – When the file is flashed, reboot your device and it’s all done.
How to un-root Micromax Unite 2
Note
You must have a custom recovery in order to do this procedure. If you used the procedure on our site to root your device, you already have a custom recovery.
The procedure should flash the stock firmware on your device.
Procedure
Step 1- Download the recovery flash able stock firmware for your device and save it to your desktop.
Step 2 – Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable and copy Stock Firmware from your desktop over to the root of your SD card. It’s the topmost folder on your SD card.
Step 3 – When it’s copied, disconnect your device from your PC and head over to the Google Play Store and download and install Quick Boot on your device.
Step 4 – Launch the newly installed app on your device and tap on Recovery.
Step 5 – Your device should reboot into recovery mode.
Step 6 – Select Install and then select the Stock Firmware .zip file to be flashed on your device.
Step 7 – Hit yes when prompted and it’ll start flashing the firmware on your device.
Step 8 – When the firmware is flashed, reboot your device and it’s all done.
This is all what one has to do to root and un-root his/her Micromax Unite 2. The procedure is simple and easy to follow.
